More Cowgirls and Booty Kickin' Boots

Cowgirls Continued......

Winter is boring, blah and requires time spent indoors. The barn time gets limited and we get bored! Although this is the mildest winter I can recall in all my memory, it's still dark early and limits time in the saddle.  Here is a continuation of our mid-winter western theme days, with a little creative artistic twist.

Boots are not just a fashion statement. Boots are a reflection of your personality, they are essential to your livelihood. Every pair is carefully selected to reflect your personality to fit your job.  Boots carry you through the dirt, the mud and log all the miles with you on your journey! A pair of boots can tell the story of your travels. A good pair of boots are worn to the sole. It is a sad day when you part with a pair. Ohhhh the stories a girl's boots could tell.

It's a Cowgirl Thing

So what do you do in the middle of winter when it's too cold to hang out in the barn, or on the trail or playing in the dust chasing cans with the horses? Well, obviously, turn the studio into a warm western retreat and round-up some cutie cowgirls over to take some pictures! It was awesome to turn my two passions - horses and photography into a few FUN creative hours.

We even managed to find us some cowboys, but that's a different day. :)

I got so many awesome pictures! I've decided to showcase some different edits from this set. It was so much fun to step outside of the box just a little and try some different looks.

Here is one that was transformed into a painting look.

This is an example of what can happen when you crawl on the floor with lights and reflectors to get the light to drop just a little different. (Of course a pretty girl in cowboy boots with gorgeous eyes helps!)

The night of this session, we didn't only get one, but two pretty girls.  Twins even Better!  Their Momma and Daddy know how to make some pretty girls!

Thanks girls! You Rock!!

More girls to come. This is only the beginning..... and I'm not lying about the Cowboys either!

Happy #1

Little Miss Adorable Andie Turned ONE.

The day started with a morning phone call. "Of course it's a blizzard on my daughter's birthday!  We'll be there. I want her pictures ON her birthday!" Andie's determined mom, Megan and Auntie Nicole (came all the way from California to celebrate the little Princess' Birthday) endured horrible road conditions and made it to the Studio. We took pictures!  A whole lot of them. It was too hard to restrain myself, Andie was in the mood to be a star in front of the camera.  Of course she was styling some pretty adorable outfits.

A banner that matches the dress. This little lady has some style.

There's a little bit of a purple theme going on here. She is totally adorable in her custom Onesie and Tu-Tu! Even Mr. Bear had to give this little sweetie a birthday kiss.

And then there was Cake.........................

Not so sure about this at first. Really? A whole cake just for me? Maybe I'll just touch it a little.

Fine! I'll take a bite.

This cake might do....

It's cake! What's a girl to do?

This is the bestest cake EVER!

The cake is all gone, or all over. Either way it was one Yummy Mess.

Thank you to my wonderful friend Michelle for referring Megan and Andie. We had a great time.

Thank you Megan for sharing Miss Andie's most important first birthday with me.

I hope her party was the best!

It's a love thing

Meet Joe and Jenn!

Michelle and I met Joe and Jenn in Stillwater on a very sunny October day to shoot their engagement session. We trapsed all around that little town and came up with some pretty great pictures. We started at the river by the bridge.

They climbed the stairway of love to pose for a few on the fire escape. Of course we did not see the no trespassing sign clearly posted at the enterance.

Took a little stroll down Main Street. There are so many great historic buildings, we needed a picture on the stoop.

A little romance along the way.

There they are... at it again

The front stairs of a fine residence.

They went along with all our silly ideas. Yes the living room on the railroad tracks.

Love is in the eye of the beholder and his eye is on his beloved

I can hardly wait to share their special day.

To be continued ....  July 14,2012 they will be Mr. & Mrs. Wold

Best of luck to you two!

It's A Cowboy Thing

Justin - Class of 2012 I had a great time doing Justin's Senior Portraits. We had a blast and my daughter Stephanie tagged along as a second shooter with me. That was a total blast working with her.

I don't know what it is about this kid, but we had such a great time. Maybe just maybe it was his smart sassy comeback lines, his over confident personality which I assume anyone silly enough to ride a crazy bucking horse has to have or just maybe it's that smirk and those dimples!

We did a split session, took some pictures at the Pine City HS Rodeo event in September and also borrowed the rodeo grounds at Dead Broke Arena in Hugo. Which was very appropriate since this is the same place he won the title of

2011 MN State High School Rodeo Saddle Bronc Champion

Sweet Sassy Sunshine

Alex - Class of 2012

Alex is near and dear to our family. She has been hanging around the house for a few years now and every time she comes in the door she's a huge ray of sunshine. I would have been insulted if she didn't ask me to do her senior pictures. We had a lot of fun.

Alex is one of the most beautiful girls in the whole world. She's gorgeous on the oustide but you can't help but fall in love with her sweet pure good spirirt with a little stubborn mixed in.

Vinnie was honored to be Alex's prom date last year and we had so much fun taking prom pictures. Here's one from prom. I think she must have been the most beautiful girl in the room especially with this purple polka-dotted dress that just screamed Alex!

The perfect couple.

And...Always Daddy's little girl.
